PREMIER LEAGUE PREDICTIONS

(All kick-offs are 1500 GMT unless specified)

SATURDAY

Blackburn v Newcastle

Blackburn v Newcastle

Newcastle are on a bit of a bad trot and they are missing quite a few players at the moment too.

Blackburn are unbeaten so far under Big Sam, he's made a decent start and he's had some time to work with them on the training ground.

Their organisation is already better as is their shape, so I'm going for Blackburn in this one.

Verdict: 2-1

Bolton v Man Utd

Bolton v Man Utd

The mistake United made against Wigan on Wednesday was that they almost scored too early - but they have really got the bit between their teeth right now.

They have players missing, but United have match-winners like Ryan Giggs to come back into the team.

Bolton will be their usual competitive, aggressive self and will not be easy to play against.

Verdict: 0-2

Chelsea v Stoke

Chelsea v Stoke

Chelsea had the right of reply against Southend on Wednesday in the Cup after their beating at Man United and despite a shaky start, they came through it well.

But it's the dressing-room that needs sorting out there - Old Trafford must have been the final straw in that regard.

Playing Stoke is a tough task and they will be up for it, but I'd expect Chelsea to prevail.

Verdict: 2-0

Man City v Wigan

Man City v Wigan

Wigan have had a great run, but the speculation over players like Wilson Palacios and Antonio Valencia does provide Steve Bruce with a problem.

It's good that he said what he did about not denying the players the chance to further their careers - a good dose of realism from the Wigan manager.

The United game on Wednesday will have taken a lot out of Wigan and Man City are good at home, I reckon they'll sneak this.

Verdict: 2-1

Sunderland v Aston Villa

Sunderland v Aston Villa

I agreed with what West Brom boss Tony Mowbray said last week - that Villa are set up to be a really good counter-attacking side.

They will find it easier to play away because of the pace in the team, but will not find this match easy.

Sunderland are stronger and more resilient these days and they are doing OK at home right now.

Verdict: 1-1

West Brom v Middlesbrough

West Brom v Middlesbrough

When you're down there at the bottom, you pinpoint games you think you can win - like West Brom did with Spurs at home a couple of weeks back.

This will be another they will have identified as a win and with Jay Simpson making a really good, lively start to his Baggies career, I think they can do it.

The Stewart Downing transfer speculation has gone quiet this week, but Boro are still too inconsistent.

Verdict: 2-0

Hull v Arsenal (1730 GMT)

Hull v Arsenal

Hull got themselves a much-needed win in the Cup on Wednesday and that will be a big boost in time for this one.

But whatever you say about Arsenal, whatever inadequacies they have, they've still got some very, very good players.

I'm going to go for Arsenal to win, with a little bit of revenge thrown in there for Hull's stunning win at the Emirates earlier on in the season.

Verdict: 1-2

SUNDAY

West Ham v Fulham (1330 GMT)

West Ham v Fulham

These are two of the form teams in the Premier League right now so it's a close one to call.

It's a local derby and West Ham won at Fulham in September, so Roy Hodgson's men will want to take revenge for that one.

I reckon it'll end in a draw, with Fulham the happier of the two teams to take a point.

Verdict: 1-1

Tottenham v Portsmouth (1600 GMT)

Tottenham v Portsmouth

This one has got everything, hasn't it? Harry Redknapp managing against his former club, Jermain Defoe facing Pompey so soon after leaving them, it's got the whole lot.

It's even got Arsenal legend Tony Adams as the visiting manager, but I'm going to go for a narrow Tottenham victory.

Harry is trying to change the balance of his squad in the transfer window because although they have some good players, it is very lop-sided.

Verdict: 2-1

MONDAY

Liverpool v Everton (2000 GMT)

Liverpool v Everton

Everton have done quite superbly without a recognised striker in recent weeks and I cannot remember the last time they conceded a goal.

But form doesn't very often play a part in these types of derby games and it is going to be very, very tight, probably with Liverpool to nick it.

You do worry about the Reds, though - if Fernando Torres doesn't start and Robbie Keane is on the bench, who else apart from Steven Gerrard do they have who is a real match-winner?

Verdict: 1-0
